To the Beach

About To the Beach

To the Beach is a UK-based holiday enquiry specialist. We put together package holidays — flights and hotels bundled as one honest price — and put you in touch with a real travel expert to finalise the booking, rather than pushing you through an automated checkout.

Last updated: 15 July 2026

Our story

To the Beach started with a simple frustration shared by a small group of frequent travellers: booking a package holiday online usually meant clicking through five or six separate pages before you found out what a trip actually cost — and by the time you reached checkout, the number rarely matched the one you'd started with. Baggage fees appeared. Transfer costs appeared. A "resort fee" appeared that nobody had mentioned. We built To the Beach around the opposite idea: show the full price of flights and hotel together, on the very first page you see it, and don't change it later.

That starting principle shaped almost everything else about how the site works. Instead of separate flight and hotel searches that you have to manually match up and calculate yourself, every package on To the Beach is priced as a single trip — flights, accommodation, and (where relevant) transfers bundled into one number, per person, shown on the search results page before you've clicked into anything.

What we do

We're an online travel agent specialising in package holidays — beach breaks, city stays, and long-haul escapes — combining flights from major UK departure airports with hotels we've selected across dozens of destinations. Rather than trying to cover every possible travel style, we focus specifically on the package holiday: the trip where you want flights and accommodation sorted together, with a single upfront price and a single checkout, rather than piecing together flights on one site and a hotel on another.

Every destination on the site includes a written overview of the region, practical detail on flight times and climate, and a curated set of hotels rather than an unfiltered list of every property in the area. We'd rather show you fifteen hotels we're confident recommending than a hundred we haven't properly vetted.

How a booking works

We've deliberately kept the path from search to confirmation short:

  1. Search — tell us where you want to go (or leave it open and browse by destination), your dates, and how many people are travelling.
  2. Compare — filter results by price, star rating, board basis, and facilities, with the full per-person price shown on every card.
  3. Choose your package — see the full itinerary detail, hotel photos, guest reviews, and what's included before committing to anything.
  4. Checkout — add any extras (checked baggage, seat selection, airport lounge access, travel insurance), enter traveller details, and pay securely.
  5. Confirmation — get an instant booking reference and confirmation, with everything saved to your account under "My Bookings" if you're registered.

You don't need an account to search or to see full pricing — we only ask you to register at the point of booking, and even then it's a short, two-step form rather than a lengthy questionnaire.

What we stand for

  • Total price shown upfront. The price you see on the search results page is the per-person price before optional extras — not a "from" teaser that jumps at checkout.
  • Clear terms, no fine print surprises. Our booking terms spell out cancellation charges, payment schedules, and what happens if plans change, in plain language rather than dense legal text.
  • Straightforward account tools. Saved traveller details, a wishlist for hotels you're considering, and a single "My Bookings" page that shows every trip you've booked with us, past and upcoming.
  • Honest hotel selection. We include real guest review scores and don't remove or hide critical reviews — a lower score with an honest review is more useful to you than a curated highlight reel.
  • Support that doesn't disappear after you've paid. Every confirmation includes a booking reference and our contact details, and changes or cancellations go through the same clear process outlined in our terms.

Our destinations

We currently feature holidays across the Mediterranean (Spain, Greece, Portugal, Italy, Cyprus, Malta, Turkey), the Canary and Balearic Islands, North Africa (Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt), long-haul beach destinations (the Caribbean, the Maldives, Thailand, Mexico, the UAE), and a growing set of European city breaks. Each destination page is written individually — covering typical weather by season, flight time from the UK, what the resort or city is known for, and who it tends to suit — rather than reusing one generic template across every location. New destinations are added as we build out relationships with hotels and vet them to our own standard.

How we choose our hotels

We don't list every hotel in a destination — we select a working range of budget, mid-range, and luxury properties in each location so there's a genuine choice at every price point, without an overwhelming, unfiltered list. Star ratings, board basis (self-catering through all-inclusive), and guest facilities are shown clearly on every hotel page, alongside a written description of the property that covers what it's actually like to stay there — the walk to the beach, the vibe of the pool area, whether it suits families or couples — rather than a bare list of amenities.

Our team

Behind To the Beach sits a small team split roughly three ways: a product and engineering group who build and maintain the booking flow, a travel team who vet hotels and write the destination and property content, and a customer support team who handle bookings once they're confirmed. We're intentionally not a huge call-centre operation — the same small team that selects a hotel is the one that can answer a detailed question about it, rather than routing you through several layers before someone can actually help.

Our travel team's day-to-day work is checking new hotels against a consistent standard before they're added to the site: location relative to the beach or city centre, cleanliness and maintenance standards, how facilities are actually described versus how they're marketed, and whether recent guest reviews back up the property's star rating. A hotel that doesn't meet that bar isn't listed, regardless of what commission it might offer — which is a fairly ordinary claim for a travel site to make, but one we think is worth stating plainly.

Sustainability and responsible travel

Package holidays have an environmental footprint, mostly from the flight itself, and we don't think an About page is the place to pretend otherwise. Where we can, we favour hotels that publish credible sustainability practices — water and energy conservation, waste reduction, and support for local employment — and we flag this on the hotel page where it's genuinely the case, rather than applying a generic "eco-friendly" label to every listing. We also encourage direct, non-stop routes where they're available for a destination, since connecting flights typically add both cost and emissions without adding value to your trip.

On the community side, we try to favour hotels and destinations where tourism visibly supports the local economy rather than operating as a sealed-off resort bubble, and our destination guides include practical detail on getting out and exploring the wider area — not just the resort itself.

Careers

We're a small, growing team and don't have live vacancies to list right now. Our hiring focuses on a mix of travel industry specialists for the destination and hotel-vetting side, and engineers and designers for the enquiry platform itself — check back here for open roles as we grow.

Press and partnerships

As we build relationships with tourism boards and hotel groups, we'll feature that third-party validation here rather than burying it on a separate press page nobody finds.

Payments and security

Card payments are processed through Stripe, a payment provider used by a large share of online businesses worldwide and independently certified to the highest level of card industry security (PCI DSS). Your card details are sent directly to Stripe and never touch our own servers. Full detail on how we handle personal data more broadly is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Financial protection

Because every trip is finalised and paid for directly with one of our travel specialists rather than through an automated checkout, the specific financial protection that applies is confirmed with you at that stage, in line with UK package travel regulations — see our Booking Terms for how the enquiry-to-booking process works.

Getting in touch

Questions about an existing booking, a destination, or anything else can be sent to info@tothebeachholiday.com or by phone on 0204 584 2433. Our FAQ page covers the questions we're asked most often — payment schedules, changing a booking, baggage allowances, and what happens if a flight time changes — and is usually the fastest place to check before reaching out directly.

Accessibility

We want the site itself to be usable by as many people as possible, regardless of how you browse. That means sufficient colour contrast between text and background, forms that work with a keyboard alone and not just a mouse, images that carry meaningful alternative text for screen readers, and page structure that uses proper headings so assistive technology can navigate the page sensibly rather than reading it as one undifferentiated block. Accessibility work is never really "finished" on a live site — it's an ongoing standard we'd hold every new page to, not a one-off audit.

Separately, our special requests process (see "How a booking works" above) is where we'd handle accessibility needs for the trip itself — step-free hotel rooms, assistance at the airport, or dietary requirements — distinct from the accessibility of the website you're booking through.

Our promise if things go wrong

Most holidays go to plan, but package travel inherently depends on several other parties — airlines, hotels, ground transfer operators — so occasionally something changes after you've booked. Our Booking Terms set out exactly what happens if we need to change or cancel a holiday, what counts as a "significant" change versus a minor one, and what your options are in each case. We'd rather you read that section before you book than discover it for the first time when you need it — which is why it's written in plain language rather than dense legal boilerplate, and why we link to it from here rather than burying it.

If you do need to raise a complaint, our FAQ page and Booking Terms both explain how, and what to expect in terms of response time. We'd rather resolve something directly with you than have it escalate, and our support team is set up to have the authority to actually fix problems rather than just log them.

Looking ahead

The roadmap for To the Beach, were it a live product, would focus on three things: widening the destination list without diluting how carefully each one is vetted, giving customers more self-service control over an existing booking (date changes, name corrections, adding travellers) without needing to contact support for routine changes, and tightening the loop between guest reviews and which hotels stay listed. None of that is groundbreaking as a strategy — the harder part is doing the unglamorous work of keeping hotel information accurate as things change, season after season, rather than letting a listing go stale the day after it's published.

If any of these details ever look out of date, or you spot something on the site that doesn't match what's written here, we'd genuinely rather hear about it than have it sit uncorrected — an About page that quietly drifts out of sync with reality isn't one worth publishing.
